Can Deumavan be used in the anal area?
Yes, this is no problem at all. Especially if the skin in the anogenital area is already damaged and reacts with itching, burning and other intimate complaints.
Deumavan ointment consists of kerosenes. Are these well tolerated?
Deumavan protective ointment contains kerosene and white vaseline. This is a gel of solid and liquid kerosenes. Only highly purified components that meet the strict quality requirements of the German Pharmacopoeia are used for Deumavan. Both components have been used in pharmacy, dermatology and cosmetics for about 150 years, mainly because of their properties:
1) very good tolerance (e.g., no known allergies),
2) significantly better shelf life compared to vegetable oils and
3) protective, regenerating and nourishing effects on the skin.
The efficacy and tolerability of Deumavan protective ointment and formulation have been tested in clinical trials, particularly in various chronic skin diseases in the intimate and anal areas.
What is the pH (acidity) of Deumavan ointment?
A pH exists only in the presence of water. Deumavan protective ointment is an anhydrous preparation and therefore does not affect the natural acidity of the skin.
Can Deumavan protective ointment be used for an extended period of time?
Yes, Deumavan protective ointment is suitable for long-term use and can be applied several times a day.
Can there be interactions between Deumavan ointment and medication?
In contrast, if medications are used internally (e.g., tablets, drops, injections), interactions with Deumavan protective ointment need not be considered, even if they are used to treat skin diseases in the intimate and/or anal area. In such cases, it may even make sense to use Deumavan protective ointment in addition to drug therapy.
Can Deumavan ointment be used during pregnancy?
Yes, this is no problem at all.
I have heard that Deumavan ointment can also be used as a lubricant?
Deumavan is not a lubricant. The scope of application of Deumavan protective ointment (rich in fat) is the protection, regeneration and care of sensitive skin in the external intimate area and in the anal area. This field of application also includes the protection of the delicate intimate skin from mechanical stress during sexual intercourse.
We recommend a water-based lubricant such as Animé, which contains hyaluronic acid that makes it glide longer.
Can Deumavan ointment help restore intimate skin stressed by sexual intercourse?
Any mechanical stress, even during sexual intercourse, can stress or even injure the delicate and sensitive intimate skin. This applies especially to the vulva in women and the glans in men. Especially when the intimate skin is very dry (for example, due to age or poor intimate hygiene). Daily application of Deumavan helps regenerate intimate skin. This increases their elasticity and resistance, making them more resistant to future mechanical stresses.
When urinating, a burning sensation occurs, for which the doctor cannot find a cause. What could be the reason?
Hard toilet paper or rubbing too hard when drying after urination can cause micro-injuries at the exit of the urethra, leading to hypersensitivity to urine. In women during and after menopause, the skin and mucous membranes become thinner and more sensitive as estrogen production decreases.
Deumavan protective ointment can help relieve or even eliminate the burning sensation by reducing contact with urine and its aggressive components. To do this, Deumavan is applied thinly to the outer part of the urethral outlet (vulva or glans) before each urination and after removing the urine residue.
Does Deumavan protective ointment also help with constant sitting (for example in a wheelchair) and/or long-term use of incontinence materials (for example diapers)?

Deumavan protective ointment protects, regenerates and cares for sensitive skin throughout the intimate and anal area. Deumavan helps reduce the impact of mechanical stresses (such as pressure or friction). Consequently, the protective ointment can prevent or relieve pain. It is recommended to apply Deumavan before each load and renew several times a day.
In addition to the ointment, consideration should also be given to wearing very tight underwear or pants that are too tight, as these can put additional stress on the skin.
Can Deumavan protective ointment protect, regenerate and care for the male genital area?
Deumavan protective ointment is designed for both men and women. Due to its special formula, Deumavan is suitable for daily intimate care, for example for the treatment of dry, itchy intimate skin (such as in neurodermatitis and psoriasis) and for protecting intimate skin from aggressive constituents of urine or feces.
Deumavan is rich in fats, contains vitamin E and is free of potentially irritating additives, such as alcohol, emulsifiers and parabens.
Can the Deumavan protective ointment also be applied to body parts outside the intimate zone, for example, on the skin of the back, legs or face?
Deumavan protective ointment has a high-fat formulation that is basically suitable for all parts of the body with very dry, rough and cracked skin. However, it should be noted that very dry skin conditions may have a pathological cause and should therefore be evaluated by a physician, especially if they persist for a long time.
Generally, application to the face is not recommended due to the properties of the skin around the eyes and mouth.
