On this page you can read more about the Caya diaphragm and the Caya gel. You will find answers to questions such as: what is the cost? does Caya fit me?
What is the Caya diaphragm?
The Caya diaphragm is a new and reliable contraceptive device. Hormone-free and easy to use, Caya is inserted into the vagina in the same way as a tampon. The diaphragm is placed just in front of the cervix, preventing sperm from entering the uterus. Extensive research has been done on its reliability and ease of use. Caya is an affordable contraceptive, as it lasts up to two years. The diaphragm costs in the Netherlands: €38.64 and in Belgium: €42.90. This price difference is because the Caya diaphragm falls under the low VAT rate and in Belgium under the high VAT rate.
The Caya diaphragm always needs to be used in combination with the Caya gel to secure the optimal protection against pregnancies.

Caya gel consists of lactic acid, sodium lactate, cellulose, sorbic acid and water. The Caya gel costs in the Netherlands: €11.71 and in Belgium: €13.00 and contains about 15 doses.
Note: Caya gel no longer comes with an applicator you can obtain it separately from our webshop:

Caya suits me
More and more women want a natural and secure form of contraception – without hormones. The Caya diaphragm allows you to self-consciously use contraception only at those times when you want it. Caya is inserted into the vagina before sex, as easily as a tampon. This can be done up to 2 hours before intercourse so there is no interruption during lovemaking. Of course, it can also be done right before you start having intercourse.
The Caya diaphragm completely covers the cervix and lies between the posterior vaginal vault and the niche behind the pubic bone and is not palpable. During and after sex, the diaphragm prevents sperm from entering the cervix. After intercourse, the Caya diaphragm must remain in the vagina for at least 6 hours.
You always use the Caya diaphragm together with the Caya Gel, so you are well protected against pregnancy.
The Caya diaphragm offers safety
- The silicone membrane functions as a mechanical barrier just in front of the cervix. The firm edge of the Caya diaphragm completely seals the cervix.
- Among other things, Caya contraceptive gel contains cellulose, which forms an additional mechanical barrier around the cervix.
When should you not use Caya birth control?
- During the first 6 weeks after childbirth
- In cases of severe vaginal or uterine prolapse (prolapse)
- If previously a diaphragm size 60mm or size 85mm or larger was used. In other words, if a small or very large cervix is observed
- Also important; the diaphragm does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
